I have a 93 Mazda 626 that will not start.?

It will turn over, but never starts. It started dieing when I'd stop a few months before it completely shut down. I'd wait a few minutes and it'd start again. We have given it a complete tune up and changed the fuel filter and the distributer. When it died the last time, it wouldn't turn over or anything. Then we changed the distributor and it started turning over, but still will not crank. A friend of mine thinks the timing is off, but I have no idea how to check that or if it will be expensive to fix. Any ideas?I have a 93 Mazda 626 that will not start.?
To check the timing without a light bring your number one cylinder to top compression and see where the rotor cap is sitting if it is not on the number one plug wire pick up your distributor and rotate till it is and you should be in time.I have a 93 Mazda 626 that will not start.?
it could be the starter go check it out
well, frankly...

it's a 93 mazda 626.

it may be time to re-think your ownership of this vehicle.

it may be best to do an 'old yeller' on it.

or if you've seen 'sahara', do a 'panama'.

did you clean your battery ports?
That's a 2.2L Mazda engine. They also make the 1.9 Escort engine. Find a person that has replaced timing belts on Ford Escorts and they can replace the one on your Mazda without trouble. Good luck. Ford Dealership if you can't find a Mom and Pop shop.
check idle control valve..and timing
